Fayemi’s lawyer has accused INEC of granting PDP electoral materials – He said this was contrary to due practise – The lawyer said this could open way for falsification The governor-elect of Ekiti state, Kayode Fayemi, has raised allegation against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of granting the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) lawyers access to electoral documents. The Sun reports that Tajudeen Akingbolu who is a member Fayemi’s legal team said they were not granted access to the Certified True Copies (CTCs) of the electoral documents even after formally writing to INEC. Akingbolu said the normal practise was for other parties to be notified when access is being granted to one party so as to prevent falsification. The lawyer said he went to INEC office to see the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Prof. AbdulGaniyu Raji, on the development but was told he was not on seat. He said: “Immediately after the election was conducted, July 16 to be precise, we wrote an application to the REC to the effect that we need CTCs of Forms EC8A, EC8B, EC8C, EC8D, EC8E and other documents used for the conduct of the election but up till now, we have not been granted access to those documents.” NAIJ.com had reported that Olusegun Osinkolu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti, has advised Governor Ayodele Fayose to refrain from alleged ‘secret employment’ into the state civil service to supposedly stop the incoming government from plunging into crisis upon its inauguration.. Osinkolu state that the governor-elect, Fayemi, will create employments for Ekiti youths just as in his past regime. He said that any appointment not in alliance with civil service rule would be discarded by the coming government, Vanguard reports. Osinkolu in a statement said that it would be betrayal of trust for Fayose to start employing persons at the time of his administration. He wondered why Fayose had waited this long before considering appointing the unemployed youths. Osinkolu termed the move as an alleged ulterior intention to derail the incoming government.
